MOHAMMED MUTLAK CAMP was born to offer visitors to the Wadi Rum Protected Area the experience of the most authentic Bedouin hospitality. Here every detail is taken care of with great attention: The location, the quality of the tents – chalets with attention to every detail, with insulation made of traditional and totally natural materials, electrical sockets, lighting, windows – and of the beds (worthy of a real hotel! ), the outdoor and indoor common areas, the great flexibility and availability of our team. Everything contributes to making a stay at the MMC a gratifying, surprising and unforgettable experience.
MOHAMMED MUTLAK CAMP stands out for its unique and unrepeatable position. Away from other Camps and tourist trails, our camp is nestled in unrivaled beauty. Wherever you look, at 360 degrees, you can enjoy an astonishing view at any time of the day. Sunrises and sunsets are topical and unmissable moments for all our guests.
We provide the transfer both ways by Jeep from the Wadi Rum Village. Guests can choose to get to the Camp either riding a Camel – it takes about 2 hours – or trekking with a Guide – a 3/4 hours wonderful experience. Same for the way back to the Village.
The common areas are the fulcrum around which everything happens. Both the large living-restaurant-tents and the outdoor area have been designed to encourage interaction and meeting between guests in a typically Bedouin atmosphere, where excellent tea is constantly served and where a large bivouac is always on. Musicians and exponents of local culture often take part, to cheer and involve our guests in memorable evenings.

Water Scarcity in Jordan and its Impact on Wadi Rum
Jordan ranks among the world’s most water-scarce nations, and this scarcity becomes starkly evident in the arid vastity of Wadi Rum. While the desert does house a few springs, their output is insufficient to meet the region’s water needs. Even the annual rainfall fails to adequately replenish the country’s water resources.
Within the vicinity of our campsite, natural water sources are notably absent. As a consequence, all the water essential for our camp operations is transported by tank truck. This underlines the fact that water supply is indeed limited. It serves as a strong reminder that water in the desert is an absolute luxury, and its conservation and responsible use are really important.
The electricity is generated through an array of solar panels strategically positioned on the rocks behind our campsite. Shortly after sunset, we activate this solar-powered system, ensuring the camp comes alive with light.
Inside the communal tent, we’ve installed a plug system compatible with European outlets. This allows you to conveniently charge your mobile phones and camera batteries. We recommend initiating the charging process shortly after your arrival at the camp to ensure your devices are ready for your adventures.
Outdoors, we are committed to preserving the natural darkness of the desert. Our lamps emit a gentle glow, powered by their internal batteries, lasting for as long as their charge allows. This thoughtfully designed lighting system ensures minimal light pollution, creating an ideal environment for stargazing, where the celestial wonders of the night sky can be fully appreciated.
